Two Police Officers Killed By Suspected Fulani Herdsmen In Kaduna

Two policemen were on Thursday killed in Southern Kaduna by suspected Fulani herdsmen. The officers were reportedly patrolling Kagoro-Gidan Waya highway following the incessant attacks in the area.
The deceased officers include Sgt. Godiya Agula and Sgt. James Iliya, while Sgt. Umar Magaji, who sustained several injuries is said to be receiving treatment.
The policemen were on visiting patrol from Zaria to the area as a result of the incessant attacks in the area that have resulted in killings and destruction of property, but were ambushed by the gunmen on their assumption of duty.
The affected policemen reportedly lost their AK47 rifles to the gunmen.
A police officer in the area who does not want his name in print could not authenticate the number of ammunition in the rifles confiscated by the gunmen, but confirmed the incident to our reporter.
